Obstruction of Justice

Obstruction of justice is a criminal charge that refers to any interference of the administration and due process of law. This can take place during an investigation, as well as during a trial.

Examples of obstruction of justice are:

  • Bribing jurors or government witnesses
  • Threatening or assaulting a person because they operated in a criminal investigation
  • Lying to law enforcement by giving a false name or false and misleading statements regarding the circumstances of a crime
  • Hiding or destroying evidence
